We were local experts to the Detail Project Reports prepared under the JNNURM for Panaji (2007-2012) for Heritage Conservation, Urban Renewal, Comprehensive Mobility Plan and Basic Services to the urban poor. We helped with interaction with all stakeholders, ward representatives, citizens and helped collect data, conduct surveys and documentation of ground realities. We assisted with public participation workshops, a first of its kind as per the JNNURM mandate. We were also part of the core team that helped conceptualize and prioritize projects for the city. The CMP had visionary recommendations of pedestrian zones in the city center, sustainable public transport systems and traffic calming measures to de-congest the city core.
